Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Management Services
The South Country School District Business Office is responsible for the district's financial operations, and develops recommendations to the Board of Education to guide the financial program of the district.
The Business Office oversees Accounting, Benefits, Payroll & Purchasing, the Financial Components of the Bond Projects, as well as Building and Grounds, the Food Services Program and the district's technology infrastructure. Additionally, the Department prepares the annual budget for review by the Board of Education, and presents monthly financial reports at the Board's public meetings.
The range of purchasing includes textbooks, furniture, office supplies, buildings and grounds equipment and electronic equipment for classrooms and offices. Competitive bidding procedures are followed for any commodity purchases in excess of $20,000. Requests for bids are published in the Long Island Advance as well as the District's website.
