2017-2018 Budget Information
The Board of Education and District Administration encourage residents to actively participate in the budget development process for the upcoming school year. Information may be found on the Business Office web page. Click on the link below.
Voter Eligibility & Registration Information
In order to vote on the budget, residents must be registered. Voter eligibility requires that you are:
1. A Citizen of the United States
2. Eighteen  years of age or older on the day of the election
3. You have lived in the school district for at least 30 days prior to this election.
4. A registered voter with the school district or with the Suffolk County Board of Elections

In-District voter registration will be conducted through May 11, 2017, 9am to 4pm at the District Clerk Office located in the School District Administration Building, 189 North Dunton Avenue, East Patchogue, New York. You must appear in person at District Office to register.
Applications for Absentee Ballots are obtainable during school business hours from the District Clerk. Completed applications must be received by the District Clerk at 189 Dunton Ave, E. Patchogue, NY 11772, by Tuesday, May 9, 2017 if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or by Monday, May 15, 2017, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. Absentee ballots must be received by the District Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

Petitions nominating candidates for the office of Trustee of the Board of Education will be made available beginning March 20, 2017. Nominating petitions must be filed with the District Clerk at her office in the Administration Building, 189 North Dunton Avenue, East Patchogue, New York, not later than 5:00 p.m. prevailing time on April 17, 2017. Nominating petition(s) are to be submitted for one (1) vacancy on the Board of Education commencing July 1, 2017 and ending June 30, 2020. Petitions are to be signed by at least 36 qualified voters of the district (representing 2% of the number of voters who voted in the previous annual election for members of the Board of Education); must state the name and residence of each signer, and, must state the name and residence of the candidate.
Referenda or Propositions
Pursuant to a rule adopted by the Board of Education in accordance with §2035 of the Education Law, any referenda or propositions to amend the budget, or otherwise to be submitted for voting at said election, must be filed with the District Clerk at her office in the Administration Building, 189 North Dunton Avenue, East Patchogue, New York, at least (60) days before the date of the Annual Meeting and Election, or on or before March 17, 2017, at 5:00 p.m.
Any referenda of propositions required by law to be included in the published or posted notice of the Annual Meeting and Election must be filed with the District Clerk a reasonable time in advance of the first publication or posting of the legal notice.
All referenda must be typed or printed in the English language; must be directed to the Clerk of the School District; must be signed by at least 88 qualified voters of the District (such number representing the greater of 25 or 5% of the number of voters who voted in the previous annual election); and must state the name of each signer. The School Board will not entertain any petition to place before the voters for the purpose of which is not within the powers of the voters to determine, which is unlawful, or any proposition which fails to include a specific appropriation where the expenditure of monies is required by the proposition, or where other valid reason exists for excluding the proposition from the ballot.
