Students connect with police and emergency responders at Hometown Heroes event
Frank P. Long Intermediate students recently had the opportunity to meet and learn from local police officers, firefighters, EMTs and other emergency personnel during a Hometown Heroes event at their school. The students engaged in hands-on activities, explored emergency response vehicles and participated in demonstrations highlighting the work of law enforcement and emergency agencies. Police officers and EMS volunteers also spoke with students about public safety, emergency preparedness and the importance of community service.
