As part of Bellport High School’s Black History Month celebrations, the school’s social studies department hosted an assembly featuring the life of John Conquest through the eyes of a panel of speakers. Conquest was a beloved high school assistant principal and coach. Speaking about their connections with Conquest were retired Bellport High teachers Margaret Bullock, Diane Poulos and Leroy Still; former athletic director and retired teacher John Frankie; 1987 alumnus Matthew Lucas; teachers Stephen Schwicke and Sharaya Williams; and high school Assistant Principal Dan Fauvell.
