Girls Winter Track Team Sprints into a Successful Season

The Bellport girls varsity winter track season is off to an impressive start, with multiple athletes recording top performances. Senior Arielle Ross had an early season success by running the second fastest time in the school’s history in the 300 meters with a time of 41.59 at the North Shore Invite in New York City. She placed first overall out of 371 runners. She currently ranks fourth overall in Suffolk County, and her time qualifies her for the New York State Meet. The 4x200 meter relay team of Ava Cooley, Shania Creary, Olivia Francis and Arielle Ross ran the fifth fastest time in school history, placing second at the Nassau Coaches Invite. Their time ranks them third overall in Suffolk County. Most recently, the entire team raced at the Suffolk County League championship, earning fourth place overall. The following runners earned All-League honors at the meet:
