Bellport’s Camryn Howard ranked No. 1 high school wrestler in the nation

Bellport High School student-athlete Camryn Howard recently earned the title of No. 1 high school wrestler in the nation in the 157-pound weight class following a last-minute victory over the country’s top-ranked competitor at FloWrestling’s “Who’s Number One” card at Xtream Arena in Iowa.

Howard’s win marks the latest achievement in an already exceptional wrestling career. A standout both locally and nationally, he previously made school history as Bellport High School’s first varsity wrestler to earn a national title at the Fargo National Championships. Among his many accomplishments, Howard has earned double gold medals at the Pan Am World Championship in the U16 division, is a three-time Suffolk County champion and New York State champion, holds three All-State titles and numerous All-American honors, and maintains the Suffolk County record for the fastest pin.

The South Country School District extends it congratulations to Howard on this impressive win.
