Bellport wrestlers celebrated

Two state champion wrestlers from Bellport High School were celebrated by the South Country School District on March 6 with a parade to each of the district’s schools. Students stood outside their respective schools to cheer on Camryn Howard and Aaliyah Morrow as they rode by in a fire truck provided by the Bellport Village Fire Department.

Howard captured his second state championship title without allowing a single point to be scored against him during the state meet. He is now a two-time state champion, four-time Suffolk County and All-State champion, Fargo National champion and double Pan Am U16 World champion.

Morrow earned her first state championship also leaving her opponent scoreless. In addition to her state championship title, she holds two county championship titles and two All-State titles.

The South Country School District congratulates the athletes and wishes them continued success.
