Bellport High School senior earns NYS PTA Youth Humanitarian award

Bellport High School senior Sara Repper has been named the Suffolk Region recipient of the New York State PTA Youth Humanitarian Award in Memory of Stanley Marcus, recognizing students who exemplify the humanitarian principles of Stanley Marcus through service, leadership and dedication to others.

Throughout her time at Bellport High School, Repper has demonstrated a strong commitment to helping her community. Through her school’s Athletes Helping Athletes program and National Math Honor Society, she has participated in numerous community service initiatives aimed at supporting and uplifting others. In addition to her school involvement, Repper volunteers at the South Country Library, where she assists with gardening projects and a book report program.

She is also an active member of her school’s National Honor Society and was a member of the varsity soccer team. Additionally, she participated in Stony Brook University’s Women’s Sports Medicine Mentorship Program. Alongside her academic, athletic and volunteer commitments, she maintains a part-time job in the village.

In the fall, Repper will attend the University of South Carolina, where she plans to study nursing.

The South Country School District commends Sara Repper for her dedication to community service.
