The Bellport High School girls varsity wrestling team has secured a first-place ranking in Suffolk County following an undefeated season. They clinched the top spot on Jan. 28 with a decisive victory over Huntington during a dual meet, winning by more than 50 points.

Led by coach Joseph Sciolo, the team will now head to the Suffolk County wrestling tournament state qualifier, carrying momentum from their dominant season. They are currently ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 22 in the nation.

The South Country School District congratulates the team on their impressive win and wishes them continued success as they advance into postseason competition.
