Bellport educator awarded grant for student ‘dream wall’ initiative
Bellport High School ENL/ELA teacher Stephanie Factor has been awarded a $1,200 TangerKids grant from Tanger Outlets to support Reflections of Our Dreams, a creative art and literacy project designed for English language learners in grades 11 and 12. The grant will fund materials for students to create bilingual affirmations and personalized art pieces reflecting their identities, cultures and future aspirations. The project will culminate in a collaborative classroom “dream wall” that showcases students’ voices and celebrates their diverse backgrounds.
