The district congratulates Kreamer Street Elementary School special education teacher Danielle Aiello, who is a recipient of the prestigious Community Hero Award from the Transformative Educational Development Services organization. The award recognizes Mrs. Aiello’s outstanding work with disabled students.

For 12 years, Mrs. Aiello has taught special education students at both Kreamer Street Elementary and Frank P. Long Intermediate schools. She previously taught Life Skills students enrolled in grades 4-5 at Frank P. Long Intermediate School for seven years prior to teaching the 8:1:3 Program for kindergarten and first grade students at Kreamer Street Elementary School. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism through the Sage Colleges.

Mrs. Aiello says she feels extremely humbled by receiving this award. “I am blessed with the privilege of entering my classroom every day to work with a phenomenal team of teaching assistants and individual aides, who believe in our students and their capabilities as much as I do. Teaching is not a job to me; it is my passion, and I am lucky to call myself a special education teacher.”
