Seal of Biliteracy
New York State Seal of Biliteracy
Students at South Country Central School District have the exciting opportunity to earn the New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB)—a prestigious recognition awarded to graduating seniors who demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English and at least one other language.
This honor supports our mission to prepare students for success in a global society. Earning the Seal of Biliteracy not only celebrates students’ linguistic and cultural talents but also enhances college and career opportunities. It can help students stand out to employers, build deeper connections across cultures, and empower them to support and communicate with diverse communities.
Students work toward the Seal by completing language coursework, demonstrating proficiency through assessments or projects, and engaging in meaningful presentations in their chosen language.
