Honor Societies and Clubs
ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY The Bellport High School chapter of the National English Honor Society (NEHS) is open to secondary students who have demonstrated exceptional ability in such areas as literary analysis, media studies, composition, linguistic study, and creative writing, and who meet the requirements of membership. Members will participate in field trips, community service and fundraising activities.

Qualifications:
- Members must be enrolled in BHS or have attended for the equivalent of one full semester prior to being considered
- Exemplary character and citizenship (no suspensions in school and proper attendance)
- Successful completion of a minimum of two semesters of Regents or AP level English.
- A minimum English average of 90. 5. A minimum overall average of 90.
When the student can apply and be inducted: Grades 10-12
Application process: Students will be nominated by the advisor and may complete the application during the 3rd quarter.
