Performing Arts (Music)

In accordance with the New York State P-12 Learning Standards for the Arts, the Music Department offers courses designed to focus on the artistic processes of Creating, Performing, Responding and Connecting. Course offerings include the hands-on study of music by way of participating in performing groups as well as the opportunity to advance one’s knowledge of the theory and history of music through participation in our Music Theory and Music in Our Lives classes. Students who take part in our music courses become artistically literate graduates who are college and career ready, capable of fostering connections between the arts and other disciplines.
