Congratulations to the Bellport High School Clipper staff for their impressive number of wins at the Long Island Press High School Journalism Awards Gala at Hofstra University! Class of 2015 graduate Kennedy Rose won Student Journalist of the Year 1st place, and Story of the Year 1st place with Junior Abbie Veitch. Kennedy and Abbie together also won the prestigious Robert W. Greene Investigative Enterprise Journalism Award, 1st place. The award is named in honor of two-time Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Robert W. Greene. All in all, our Clipper journalists won 23 awards with 13 first place distinctions. They were recognized by the Board of Education at the July 27, 2016 meeting. Shout out to Clipper Advisor Mark Nolan and our student reporters for their well-deserved honors!
