POLICE WEEK - MAY 14- 18

Officers from various departments and precincts visited students to discuss the many aspects of police work.

April showers brought us many, many May Flowers!

With so much help, cleaning up the courtyard was a breeze!

Thanks to all the moms, dads, students, Daisy Scouts and teachers who pitched in. 

The perfect end to a successful School-wide Reading Program, was a visit from children's author Shelley Gill. Once again we thank the PTA for sponsoring this great assembly.  Ms. Gill profiled some of her best works at an assembly enjoyed by students and staff.

Thank you to our PTA for sponsoring the LI Science Museum "in-school field trip" for our Kindergarten students.

Exploring for dinosaur fossils is always fun!  The Kindergartners really enjoyed the Dino-Lab Assembly.

Mr. Finnegan and Mr. Dinger led the Second Grade in their 3rd Annual Informance! 

CARING - THE 4TH PILLAR OF CHARACTER!

Our Character Counts Committee organized a "Care Basket" project to collect over 40 baskets full of goodies and surprises to be sent to the pediatric oncology departments in various community hospitals.

Also under the heading of "Caring" two Brookhaven students showed us that  Character  really does  Count  when they had 18" of their beautiful hair cut off to be donated to Locks of Love.  Locks of Love is an organization that makes wigs for children undergoing medical treatments that cause them to lose their hair.

READ, READ, READ to make the Iditarod Sled move!

March 1st kicked off our annual School Wide Reading Event !

Our theme this year is "Race to Read".  Stop by our lobby to see Brookhaven's own Iditarod Dog Sled, being pulled along by our favorite literary canine characters, including Clifford the Big Red Dog, T-Bone, Chloe, Biscuit and many more!  You'll also find these favorite puppies on the shelves of our library. So, go get a book and READ, READ, READ!

Pastor Jim and Sister Eileen of the Lighthouse Mission of Patchogue were overwhelmed by the generous donations of winter coats sent in by our Brookhaven families.
