What information will I have access to?
You will have online access to student schedules, attendance, progress reports, report cards, and grade books.

What is the district doing to protect my child’s privacy?
Your child’s privacy is extremely important to us; as such, the district has elected not to send user names and passwords via US mail. Instead, passwords will only be issued after your application has been thoroughly reviewed by district personnel. If the information you’ve supplied to us online does not match the information we have on file, your application will be denied, and you will be notified. Once your application has been approved your account will remain active as long as you have children attending the South Country Central School District.

What about security?
The Parent Portal utilizes 128-bit encryption and is hosted in a secure Network Operation Center which is professionally monitored around the clock. Parent Portal represents a snapshot of data that is contained in the district’s “live” student information system; therefore, even in the unlikely event that the system was compromised, permanent records could not be altered in any way.

What if I forget my password?
Click the: Forgot password? link on the Parent Portal login page and type in your registered email address. Your password will be e-mailed to this address.

What if I didn't receive an e-mail from Parent Portal with my new or forgotten password?
Check to make sure your e-mail rules and/or SPAM filter is not set to deny delivery of email sent from the Parent Portal system. You can also try adding the Parent Portal email address to your email address book.

How often is the data updated in Parent Portal?
Information on the Parent Portal is updated based on district-defined parameters. If you have questions when you are viewing the information in each tab area, be sure to refer to the "last updated" message.

How soon are progress reports and report card grades posted after a reporting period ends?
Progress reports and report card grades will not be posted on the Parent Portal until the reports are finalized and ready to be mailed home.

Attendance

Attendance is entered into the Parent Portal on a real time basis.  If you are trying to access attendance during the school day please be aware that there are times when attendance may show that the student was not in class, when in actually the student had a music lesson, early dismissal, appointment with their guidance counselor, etc.  This will be reconciled the next school day.

Why can't I change the email address in my Parent Portal profile?
The program will not allow users to change the registered email address because each profile (or account) is based on an email address. A new profile will have to be created if you change your e-mail address.
