Welcome to

2012-2013 School Year

Parent Portal Is Now Available to All Grade 4 through Grade 12 Parents  The South Country Central School District is pleased to make it possible for parents to access their child’s academic progress and attendance in each of their classes through the Internet. South Country Central School District believes this kind of access will improve parent and teacher communication as well as student responsibility. Parents will be able to view schedules, progress reports, report cards, attendance, and grade book.

Parent Portal Registration

  • Current Users: If you are currently enrolled in Parent Portal, you need not register again. Your registration will remain in force and carry over each year.

  • New Users:  If you have never enrolled in Parent Portal before, in order for access to be granted you must first register for a parent account.  After District personnel are able to authenticate the registration information, an e-mail will be sent to you confirming that your account has been activated. A single password and login allows parental access. Each parent/guardian may establish an account. (Please allow a minimum of 72 hours for approval.) Click on the links below for instructions and  access to Parent Portal.

Common Errors or Problems:

Please try these solutions before you call or write regarding registration.

1. If you have been DENIED an account, the primary reason is that the information you provided doesn't match our school data. If you did not return the email verification letter that was mailed out in January indicating your email address, your account will not be activated. This is for security purposes.  Please do not call the school to have the e-mail added. You must print out the letter found on our website under Parent Portal and return it to your child’s school.

2. If you cannot access the Parent Portal, please e-mail parentportal@southcountry.org  and someone will answer your inquires promptly. Please include your name, address, description of the problem, student
name(s), and a phone number where we can reach you.

3. You must use INTERNET EXPLORER 6 or 7 on a PC computer.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
When filling out the application, PLEASE DO NOT ABBREVIATE, USE LOWERCASE LETTERS, OR USE NICKNAMES.  The registration will be rejected if you use Joey instead of Joseph, Ali instead of Allison, etc. If both parents wish to register they must fill out 2 separate applications.  Please do not register as John & Mary Jones. Use ONE name. When entering the mailing address of where the student resides please enter it as printed on either a report card, progress report, or schedule.

Privacy
The School District wants to assure you that your child’s privacy is of the utmost importance. Access to information is restricted by a secure log-on and password. South Country Central School District will not make your username/password publicly available.   It is the parent's/guardian's responsibility to keep the password secure at home. Furthermore, the information that is posted to this site is merely a copy of the real information file, insuring that no one can alter the actual permanent records through this application.

The information that you will be viewing will be updated by teachers and administrators, so you will be able to view attendance, for example, on a near real-time basis. Please allow 48 hours before calling the school regarding any discrepancies in attendance.
