General Trip Information
Trip Dates~ Wednesday March 23rd through Friday March 25th
Report Time~ 5:00 AM on Wednesday March 23rd
Depart Time~ We will leave from the WEST parking lot at 6:00 AM on Wednesday March 23rd, 2011.
Return Time~ We plan to return to the WEST parking lot at 9:00 PM on Friday March 25th , 2011.
Luggage Drop Off~ All non-carry on bags must be brought to the school on Tuesday March 22nd between the hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The luggage will be sorted at this time and placed in a room that is designated for the student’s bus. This will take place in the English wing of the building adjacent to the west parking lot. The student’s luggage will be inspected to ensure they have not attempted to bring any contraband. All prescription medication must be submitted at this time.

Washington D.C. Trip Package
Cost of trip~ The trip will cost each child $ 350 which includes these items listed below
· Motor coach transportation to, from and around Washington D.C.
· Two nights lodging at the Hilton Hotel in Springfield, VA.
· All activities that will be occurring during the trip.
· One breakfast on the motor coach trip to Washington D.C.
1. Bagel
2. Butter/Cream cheese
3. Juice
· Two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners.
· All taxes and gratuities.
· DJ Dance party at the hotel.
· Overnight hallway security at the hotel.
Additional Costs
The basic cost of the trip covers most meals during the trip. Students will need additional money to cover meals that are not included (Lunch at rest stop going to Washington, DC and Dinner at rest stop on return trip). If students wish to purchase additional items beyond what is covered, the student must pay for the cost of these items. Students will need additional money if they wish to purchase gifts or souvenir items during the trip. There will be a gift shop in museums and at the Capital Building Visitor Center which sells merchandise the students may purchase.
Chaperones
All Chaperone duties will be performed by teachers from the Bellport Middle School. In the event we do not have enough teacher volunteers, we will use other district employees such as teacher aides. If parent chaperones are needed, we will inform all parents, and any who are interested will be chosen in a random drawing.
Assignments
Bus Assignments~ Each person will be assigned to a bus. Please do not switch buses at any time. It is very difficult to do bus checks and maintain correct data if you are not on your assigned bus. The bus assignments are FINAL, and may not be changed at any time. Please do not request a change, as these requests will not be considered.
Room Assignments~ Each Person will be assigned to a room. Students will be given the opportunity to choose their roommates. However, once the room assignments are made they are final and may not be changed. Please do not request a change, as these requests will not be considered.
Group Assignments~ Each person will be assigned to a chaperone group. These assignments are final, and may not be changed. Please do not request a change, as these requests will not be considered.
~Other Important Reminders~
All rooms must be kept neat and clean at all times. Any staff member on the trip may ask to check your room at any time. Any directions given by a chaperone or group leader must be followed the first time given. Any problems relating to this will be reported to Mr. Kramer, Ms. Falzone, or Mrs. Sordyl. Those students will be subject to disciplinary actions if needed. Parents may be called if needed to pick up their son or daughter.

Payments will be made to the Bellport Middle School. Payments should be given directly to Mr. Kramer. Money Orders are preferred, but personal checks will be accepted. Please make sure your child’s full name is on the money order or check. Full payment on October 29th, 2010 is appreciated, but not necessary. The balance can be paid at any time prior to the due dates listed above.
