INTRODUCTION

Health and fitness is an area of great concern in our society today.  A significant number of American children eat a diet that does not follow what is recommended by nutritional experts. This has caused the rate of childhood obesity to grow at an alarming rate.  The increase in childhood obesity leads to an increase in the number of people who will develop diabetes, heart disease and some types of cancer.  Eating a well balanced nutritional diet is the best way to improve your health. Combined with a daily exercise routine, you will decrease your risk for diabetes, heart disease and some type of cancers.  So GO NUTS ABOUT NUTRITION!!!

I wonder what food group nuts are in anyway?

                 Just Do It – NIKE.

Each group is responsible for handing in one advertisement.

C)     You need to locate two healthy recipes using the knowledge gained from answering the questions. These recipes will be hand written and can be copied out of one of the many cookbooks on the book cart. You will not use a computer to locate the recipes.

Each student is responsible for handing in two recipes.

SOME HELPFUL HINTS:

·  This is a group project. Everyone should work together to complete the questions and the advertisement portion of the assignment. However, once you have all the information you may want to decide on individual tasks within the group to break up the work load.

·  If you need any help your classroom teacher and the librarian are  available for conference.
