Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion
Health and fitness is an area of great concern in our society today. A significant number of American children eat a diet that does not follow what is recommended by nutritional experts. This has caused the rate of childhood obesity to grow at an alarming rate. The increase in childhood obesity leads to an increase in the number of people who will develop diabetes, heart disease and some types of cancer. Eating a well balanced nutritional diet is the best way to improve your health. Combined with a daily exercise routine, you will decrease your risk for diabetes, heart disease and some type of cancers. So GO NUTS ABOUT NUTRITION!!!
I wonder what food group nuts are in anyway?

During our nutrition week we will be working in cooperative groups of 3 to 4 students. As a group you will need to obtain information on the USDA Food Guide Pyramid. You will use this information to answer questions, create an advertisement and submit two healthy recipes.
You will be given 3 class periods to complete the research necessary to complete these tasks.

A) You need to answer the questions below. Next to each question is a nut. These nuts will link you to the correct website when you click on them. Remember...you must read to locate the answer. Please write the correct answers on your handout. Full sentences, correct grammar and punctuation are expected.
Each student is responsible for handing in the questions.

You did it! You have learned all about the new food pyramid, what a healthy serving is and what constitutes a healthy diet. You have also learned how to tell if a recipe is healthy. Now you can promote a healthy diet with your advertisement. Having a well balanced nutritional diet and a daily exercise routine will help you live a long, healthy life.
