Dear Third Grade Student,

          Welcome to third grade.  I hope you had a great summer. There are many exciting learning experiences ahead for us all, and I look forward to sharing them with you. Wednesday, September 3^rd will be the first day of school. I can’t wait for it to begin.

          Third grade is a great year. We will work very hard on the third grade curriculum as well as character education that builds responsible, caring, and respectful individuals.

Here are the supplies you will need to start the year:

·         5 marble composition books (please do not send loose leaf or spiral books)

·         48 #2 pencils (all pencils will be community pencils: shared by everyone)

·         1 red pen

·         5 bottom pocket folders

·         1 box of 24 ct. crayons (please do not send colored pencils or markers)

·         2 glue sticks (please no glue bottles or glue gel)

·         2 highlighters (any colors)

·         1 large eraser

·         1-2 boxes of tissues

·         1 box of baby wipes

·         1 pencil box (small enough to fit into the desk)

·         1 art smock (an old t-shirt works fine)

·         healthy snack

Thank you for your cooperation in providing the classroom supplies needed. This will help ensure a smoother start for our school year! When you run out of supplies, a note will be sent home. Please label every item with your name.

I can not wait for the first day of school and I am excited about all the possibilities ahead of us!
