The SCSD Website Club

Webmasters
The SCSD Club maintains the Bellport High School Webpage. In 2006, the club took this task over from the Computer Club which designed and created the original high school webpage in 2001.

Community
The site provides the community with current information on virtually all aspects of Bellport High School. It welcomes suggestions that would make the site more informative.

The club elects:
President
Secretary/Treasurer
Representative to Student Council

2008-2009 Officers:
President - Joe Piccininni
Secretary/Treasurer - Nikita Cortez
Rep. to StuCo - Angelique Bilello

Advisor: Jayne B. Johnsen-Seeberger

Activities
As part of maintaining the high school's web page, the club regularly incorporates news releases, and changes the monthly calendar, marquee, club pages, critical links to the district's site, etc. It also coordinates with the Guidance Department which supplies the current Curriculum Handbook and contacts departmental chair people about departmental web pages. Weekly meetings are between the advisor and members on a rolling basis through the week due to the nature of webpage management, but discussions can also include digital art, web design, privacy rights, and copyright.  Club members have some experience in FrontPage, HTML and Java, some of the programming languages of website development. Members also can try to experiment with new technologies and software (blogs, wikis, clouds, DreamWeaver, etc.). For contributions and comments, please contact their advisor.

Meetings
In the Library during free periods of the members.
