Mrs. Lisa Conk’s 6th period class created a “Welcome to Pediatrics” sign for children being admitted to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. The students in this Studio in Art class casted their hands in plaster using sign language. Each student selected a letter of the sign language alphabet and placed them in order to spell out the welcome sign. The Bellport High School Key
Club recently attended the New York District Key Club Convention where for
the first time they were awarded the Most Outstanding Key Club for Division
Two. The club was honored because of their hard work and dedication toward
service throughout their community as well as the world. Congratulations to
all and thank you Ms. Lauren La Bella, Bellport High School Key Club Advisor
for guiding these young adults. |

This contest was co-sponsored by the school district’s Character Counts District Steering Committee which promotes our pillars of Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. Categories consisted of poetry, rap, art or essay.
