The federal Educational
Reform Bill, commonly referred to as the ‘No Child Left Behind Act”
has a provision that secondary schools provide certain student
information to military
recruiters. Specifically, secondary schools are required to disclose, upon request,
the names,
addresses and telephone listings of high school students to
military recruiters. There is a provision in the law that allows
parents and
students to request that such information not be released without their
prior
written consent.
Parents or
students wishing to exercise their option to withhold such information,
without
prior
written parental consent, must sign and return the form provided on this
website to the
Bellport High School Counseling Center.
If you have any further questions please contact our high school
