
National Senior Honor Society
2011-2012
The National Senior Honor Society signifies excellence in all phases of personal
development. Each year outstanding members of the junior and senior classes who
have a 88% academic average are inducted after a careful screening process,
which includes faculty approval. Once inducted, they must uphold high standards
of community service as well as academic performance. Freshman and Sophomores
should plan on maintaining stellar academic performance and participation in
extra curricular activities so that they will qualify when they apply for
membership.

Scheduled meetings may or may not be announced over the PA,
therefore it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to keep track of these meeting dates.
Attendance Policy
YOU MUST ATTEND A MINIMUM OF 75% OF ALL MEETINGS TO REMAIN IN THE HONOR
SOCIETY. That means you may miss a total of ONLY THREE meetings (the induction ceremony
on October 21th counts as TWO meetings). Failure to adhere to this attendance
policy is grounds for dismissal. Please turn in a note TO ME if you have
an excused absence

Service Requirement
In order to maintain your membership, you MUST HAVE a minimum of 12 hours of
community service between June 1, 2011 and May 31, 2012. Records will be kept by
one of the officers. Please remember that, as a memeber of the Honor Society,
you are expected to maintain not only high academic standards, but also high
moral and disciplinary standards as well. All OSS (and some ISS offenses) will
be grounds for immediate dismissal.
