Board Candidates
Three (3) board seats are open as a result of the expirations of the terms of offices of
Michelle Cavaleri, Victor Correa and Barbara Schatzman. Members will be elected for a term commencing
July 1, 2011 and
expiring on June 30, 2014.
Proposed Budget
Copies of the
Proposed Budget will be available upon request, to
residents of the School District beginning April 27 2011 between the
hours of
9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., at the Office of the District Clerk
and
the office of the Principal of each school within the District
during its regular business hours.

Registration
Voter
Registration will be conducted through Thursday, May 12, 2011 between
the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., prevailing time,
on all regular days during which the Office of the District
Clerk is in operation, at the Office of the Clerk located in the School
District Administration Building, 189 North Dunton Avenue, East
Patchogue, New York.

Voter
Eligibility
In order to vote on the
budget, residents must be registered. Voter eligibility requires
that you are:

A Citizen of the United States
-
Eighteen [18] years of age or
older on the day of the election
-
You have lived in the school
district for at least 30 days prior to this election.
-
A registered voter with the
school district or with the Suffolk County Board of Elections.
Applications
for Absentee Ballots
Applications for Absentee Ballots are obtainable during school business
hours from the District Clerk. Completed applications must be received
by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the
ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if
the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. Absentee ballots
must be received by the District Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m., on
Tuesday, May 17, 2011.

Referenda
or Propositions
Pursuant to a rule adopted by the Board of Education in accordance with
§2035 of the Education Law, any referenda or propositions to amend the
budget, or otherwise to be submitted for voting at said election, must
be filed with the District Clerk at her office in the Administration
Building, 189 North Dunton Avenue, East Patchogue, New York, at least
(30) days before the date of the Annual Meeting and Election, or on or
before April 18, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. Any referenda of propositions
required by law to be included in the published or posted notice of the
Annual Meeting and Election must be filed with the District Clerk a
reasonable time in advance of the first publication or posting of the
legal notice. All referenda must be typed or printed in the English
language; must be directed to the Clerk of the School District; must be
signed by at least 170 qualified voters of the District (such number
representing the greater of 25 or 5% of the number of voters who voted
in the previous annual election); and must state the name of each
signer. The School Board will not entertain any petition to place
before the voters for the purpose of which is not within the powers of
the voters to determine, which is unlawful, or any proposition which
fails to include a specific appropriation where the expenditure of
monies is required by the proposition, or where other valid reason
exists for excluding the proposition from the ballot.
