What's New at Brookhaven

Grade 3 Double Feature Night

The Grade 3 Double Feature Night at Brookhaven on November 18th : “Kungfu Panda” and “Everything you wanted to know about the NYS ELA Assessment but were Afraid to Ask” was a huge success!  While grade 3 students viewed the newly released “Kungfu Panda” in the gymnasium their parents participated in an interactive presentation on the NYS ELA assessment.   Parents learned what the test was like, how Brookhaven staff is working to support student success in literacy and ways to help their children at home.  A total of 82 parents attended.  The presentation was a result of the collaborative efforts of the PTA, Brookhaven reading department, third grade teaching staff and administration.  We are looking forward to future opportunities like this to learn and work with parents.  For more information, please click on the following link to see the attached Power Point, which was used during the presentation or feel free to call the school with questions at 730-1700.
