Strategies to use while reading/practicing sight words with your child:
Play a game of memory (on cards) with difficult words and sight words
Put each word in a sentence or a short story
Make rhymes/songs with the words
Search for difficult words in the dictionary, a magazine/newspaper, or in books
Put words in ABC order
Put words in a bag, pull out a word and have your child read it
Put difficult words on flash cards and practice them
Strategies to use while practicing math skills with your child:
Put addition/subtraction problems on flash cards and try to become automatic while giving an answer

Count change from grocery store, purse, or pocket
Group objects into twos, threes, fours, fives, and tens and then count by grouped numbers to practice skip counting
Practice fractions while cutting a pie, pizza, etc.
Ask your child, what time is it?
Have your child follow a recipe
Search the house for right, obtuse, acute angles, also for various plane shapes
Use a ruler and measure various objects around the house
