First Aid Emergency Care and overall needs assessment throughout the
school year. Along with this, physical examinations, hearing,
vision and dental screenings are performed. The nurse works
closely with administration, staff and parents to meet the health and
safety needs of our children. The focus of the office is health

The professional functions of the school psychologist include assessment/evaluation of students referred to the Committee for Special Education (CSE), intervention and counseling, and consultations with staff and parents. Consultation refers to the coordination of outside agencies (psychiatrists, neurologists, counselors, etc.) with students and their families when necessary. The psychologist also serves as the “case manager” for the CSE and sits in on all CSE meetings, often chairing sub-CSE meetings. The psychologist is an integral part of the school’s Mental Health Team, which organizes and participates in parenting workshops and other community outreach programs.
