Dear Parents,

 I hope that you are enjoying your summer with your children.

At Brookhaven Elementary we have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming school year. The custodial staff has been working around the clock to ensure that the school is clean and safe for the arrival of students in September. The secretarial staff has been planning for and organizing materials and supplies so that staff and students have what they need to teach and learn. Administrators have reorganized schedules and teachers’ assignments in order to maximize instructional time and ensure that staff is prepared to provide the best education possible for students.

This past year Brookhaven Elementary’s NYS Standardized Test Scores have increased the percentage of students scoring at proficiency in the NYS English Language Arts Assessments by 2 points and the Mathematics Assessments by 7 points. This increase in student achievement was accomplished by the cooperative efforts of parents, students and staff. I am looking forward to continuing this trend of achievement. Together we can ensure that the children of Brookhaven Elementary School will achieve and reach their potential.
