The Bellport High School
Dance Team is a Varsity sports team of chosen students in dance and/or
background in dance. Under the guidance of Coach Jessica Colosa, the
team performs routines at school functions throughout the year. This
includes fall and winter pep rallies, football games, basketball games
and soccer games. The team also participates in summer dance camp, the
Homecoming parade, Memorial Day parade, high school graduation and other
local events. Team members have the opportunity to perform at national
and local dance competitions as well as summer dance camp.

Coach:
Jessica Colosa is an alumnus of Bellport High School and
the Bellport High School Varsity Dance Team. During her 4 years on the
team, she served as captain for 2 years and danced with the first team
to attend a national competition. Jessica received her Bachelor of Fine
Arts degree in Dance Performance with a K-12 teaching certificate
through Towson University. Through her studies, she was a member of the
Towson University Dance Company for 3 years and had the great privilege
of working with profound choreographers such as; Linda-Denise
Fisher-Harrell, Juan Carlos Blanco, Carlos Danaan, Amy Marshall, and
Stephanie Powell. Her performances include New Year’s Day Parade in
Paris, France, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC, Madison Square
Garden, the American College Dance Festival in 2007 & 2008, and the
National Dance Education Organization Convention in 2008. She is a
former instructor of the Universal Dance Association and works as a
judge for many competitions and conventions throughout the Northeast.
Jessica’s an award-winning choreographer who is honored to give back and
share her love of dance with her hometown community.

All-American: Alicia, Reina, Mariah, Tiffany, & Katie (selected out of
many entries as outstanding dancers.)
